This is a family of dressings that are “active” in the treatment of wounds and deliver topical treatments to the wound site.  They may be absorbent in order to manage wound exudate or act as a secondary or cover dressing.  Typically, the dressing will deliver a sustained amount of anti-microbial agent to the site.  These dressings require full FDA and EU regulatory approvals.
